Region hosts MLK Day programs

The commemoration of civil rights activist the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.'s birth is Monday. These events across the Capital Region will honor him and his legacy. Friday Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Event, Skidmore College, Janet Kinghorn Bernhard Theater, 815 N. Broadway, Saratoga Springs, 7 p.m. An evening of spoken word, music and performance art that calls out injustice and creates community. Sunday The Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. Interfaith Worship Service, 3:30 p.m., Bethel Baptist Church, 2165 Fifth Ave., Troy. Rabbi Debora Gordon of Congregation Berith Sholom, Troy, will preach. Offering will benefit the annual Ronald J. Dukes Memorial MLK Scholarship Fund.
